20,000 applications for postal votes already received in Jena
Preparations for the Bundestag election are in full swing. The Jena postal voting center has already received 20,000 applications for postal voting. This means that the absolute number of postal vote applications processed for the 2019 state election has already been exceeded after just 10 days. The administration processes postal vote applications quickly and usually sends them out within 24 hours. This means that the documents reach the voters after approx. 3 days.
The electoral administration is currently expecting a postal vote share of around 50%, i.e. around 32,000 postal vote applications. It is quite possible that these figures will be exceeded. Eight administrative staff are involved in the preparation of postal voting documents and a further seven are preparing the election processes. On election day itself, 1,100 helpers will be on duty.
On Monday, 6.9.2021, the postal voting office will open in the historic town hall. Postal voting documents can be applied for there in person.
Opening hours:
Mon, Wed and Fri, 9 am - 1 pm
Tue and Thu, 9 am - 6 pm
Votes can also be cast there. However, this should remain the exception. You are still requested to apply online or by post.
Anyone who has not yet received their election notification should urgently contact the administration: Mail with name, address and date of birth to wahlen@jena.de
