Accessibility

Status of Compliance with Requirements

Due to the following non-conformities and exceptions, these web pages are partially compliant with the Thuringian Act on Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Bodies (ThürBarrWebG) and the Thuringian Regulation on Accessible Information Technology (ThürBITVO).

Non-Accessible Content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliance with national legislation

  • Some alternative texts are too long.

  • Some decorative images do not have an empty alternative text.

  • The alternative text for an important control element is missing.

  • The labels for some control elements are not in German.

  • The color contrast of some focused elements does not yet meet the required ratio.

  • There may be situations where a control focused via the Tab key is completely obscured.

  • The HTML syntax is incorrect in one place.

The City of Jena is making every effort to quickly address these issues in order to achieve a high level of accessibility.

Undue burden

  • Live videos with captions

Due to the tight budget situation, unfortunately no funds are currently available to implement live captions. This particularly affects the monthly live broadcast of City Council meetings. At this time, the only alternative we can offer is the minutes of the respective meetings.
