30.04. is the day of non-violent education
Every year on April 30, Germany celebrates the Day of Non-Violent Education and draws particular attention to the fact that the non-violent upbringing of children is a task for society as a whole and an enshrined right. Children must be protected against violence in any form and this applies not only to parental education, but is also the task of educational work in daycare centers, schools and also in the extracurricular area, such as in children's and youth centers or other professional leisure facilities.
#NeverViolence - this year's motto of the accompanying UNICEF campaign - is also the maxim for all employees of the Youth and Education Department and all municipal facilities.
In cooperation with the UNICEF University Group Jena and in close collaboration with the Youth & Education and Youth Welfaredepartments , the idea was born to take a very clear stand for the right of children to a non-violent upbringing in this year, which is still overshadowed by the corona pandemic and the war in Ukraine, which is still very present.
All services are aimed at supporting children and young people in their positive development and helping them to shape their individual lives in a healthy and future-oriented way.
To mark the Day of Non-Violent Parenting, the Youth and Education Service is providing information about the wide range of services on offer for children and young people, parents and guardians as well as educational professionals:
