Until 29.09.2023, all completed projects within the city of Jena, which are also characterized by a high-quality open space design, can apply for the Façade Award 2023. In addition, a special energy efficiency prize will be awarded for projects in which the architecture is combined with the use of renewable energies and technologies to increase energy efficiency in a particularly exemplary quality. Properties that have already won awards in recent years include renovated or newly constructed single-family homes, apartment buildings, industrial buildings and research facilities, as well as other public buildings.
The jury consists of members of the architectural advisory board, sponsors and employees of the city administration. A main prize with prize money is awarded. The jury can also award commendations (with or without cash prizes) in recognition of other outstanding buildings. For public developers and housing associations with more than 15 rented apartments in their portfolio, only recognitions without prize money are possible.
The sponsors and the city of Jena look forward to receiving a wide range of applications.
