The City of Jena endeavors to make its websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. This directive was implemented in Thuringia by the Thuringian Act on Barrier-free Access to the Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Bodies (ThürBarrWebG) of 30.07.2019. The Thuringian Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (ThürBITVO) of 28.04.2020 also applies.

This declaration on accessibility applies to the topic portals (subdomains) of jena.de in the current layout.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, these websites are partially compatible with the Thuringian Act on Barrier-free Access to the Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Bodies (ThürBarrWebG) and the Thuringian Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (ThürBITVO).

The city of Jena is making every effort to rectify these shortcomings quickly in order to achieve a high level of accessibility.

Disproportionate burden

Due to the tight budget situation, there are unfortunately no funds available at the moment for the implementation of live subtitles. This applies in particular to the monthly live broadcast of city council meetings. At the moment, only the minutes of the respective meetings can be offered as an alternative.
