Apartment fire in Jena Winzerla

Tonight (16.5.2023), the rescue control center Jena was informed at 03:21 about a triggered home smoke detector and a smoke development in Winzerla, Anna Siemsen Straße 36.

The alarmed professional fire department and the rescue service moved out immediately and arrived 03:32 at the scene. On site, a kitchen on the 4th floor was on fire. Thereupon, the volunteer fire department Jena Winzerla was requested for reinforcement.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the apartment was cleared of smoke by the fire department using a fan.

A male, 40-year-old person had to be taken by the rescue service to the University Hospital Jena for further examination.

Police and housing association were also on site.

At 04:40 the operation could be terminated.

The police have taken up the investigation of the cause of the fire.
