Apartment fire in Jena Winzerla - Jena fire department deployed at night

The Jena professional fire department was called out to an apartment fire in Winzerla on Tuesday night. They were supported by the Winzerla volunteer fire department.

There was a fire in an apartment on the 5th floor of an apartment building in Max-Steenbeck-Straße 2. The fire alarm system was activated. The tenant was not in the apartment at the time of the fire. Pieces of furniture were on fire and it is not yet possible to say what caused the fire.

Families from 5 other apartments in the building were evacuated during the extinguishing work and were all able to return to their apartments.

The operation lasted about three hours.
