Care in Jena: Survey Aims to Identify Support Needs
How are people faring who care for or have cared for family members? What support do they need in their daily lives—and where are there still gaps? A joint survey conducted by the City of Jena, the Jena Alliance for Families, and Friedrich Schiller University Jena explores these questions.
The goal of the study is to better understand the living and health conditions of current and former family caregivers and to compare them with the situation of people who do not have caregiving responsibilities. At the same time, the study aims to identify what support those affected need or have needed in the past, and what their personal care and support situation is or was like.
The results are intended to help better assess the need for support and care services in Jena and the surrounding area. This will allow existing services to be developed in a more targeted manner and help to be provided where it is actually needed. The results will also serve as a basis for creating a care needs plan for Jena.
Anyone aged 18 or older can participate—whether or not they have personal experience with caregiving. This is because both perspectives are important for the study.
The survey can be completed online or on paper. The online questionnaire is accessible via the link below. Paper questionnaires are available at various locations in Jena or are being distributed through institutions and organizations. The aim is to enable as many people as possible to participate.
The survey includes questions about personal background, personal health, and current or past care and support situations. No special knowledge is required to participate. It takes about 20 to 25 minutes to complete.
Participation is voluntary and anonymous. It is not possible to identify individual respondents. The survey can be paused or stopped at any time.
The organizers are also specifically asking companies, institutions, and organizations in Jena to share the survey with their employees through their internal communication channels. The more diverse the participants are, the better the survey will reflect the situation of people in Jena.
By participating, you’ll help ensure that tomorrow’s support services are better tailored to the actual needs of people in Jena.
