Casting days in Lobeda with kick-off party on 02.06.2025
For the 5th time, the "Lobeda gießt" initiative and other institutions are inviting people to a week dedicated to water, climate, nature and the environment. In addition to watering activities at various locations, the program includes a reading, a family summer cinema afternoon, walks, making bird baths and a morning with a beekeeper.
Kick-off festival on the Lobeda West town square
The watering week will be opened on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the Lobeda West town square with information stands, hands-on activities, a symbolic barrel tapping by climate adaptation coordinator Daniel Knopf and district mayor Volker Blumentritt and the awarding of the Golden Drop.
Many partners and institutions from the district are shaping the program:
- "agathe - Thuringian initiative against loneliness" and the "inge - individual design in Jena" project with interesting facts and tips on protecting against heat
- Energy-saving check with tips on saving water
- Sound workshop with sounding water experiments
- Sparkasse Jena with seed cards and insect hotels
- Children's and youth center KLEX e. V. with plant exchange
- Lobeda district office with coffee and cake
- Streetwork Lobeda with snacks & drinks at the S.O.F.A.
- and the Lobeda volunteer fire department with irrigation water
District walk "Experience and understand the urban climate"
A walk through Lobeda with "agathe" and "inge" as well as climate adaptation coordinator Daniel Knopf starts at 1:30 pm at the University Hospital Jena (green area UKJ-Kinderklinik). Where are there shady oases and benches, where is it hot and dry in summer? These and other questions can be discussed during the tour. The route to the town square is approx. 1.8 km.
