Changed timetables on route 42 come into force on 01.12.2025
With effect from Monday, 01.12.2025, the bus service on bus route 42 between Jena-Nord and the Himmelreich residential area will change.
The corresponding timetable tables can now be found on the Jena public transportwebsite , in the VMT route planner and in the MeinJena app. They will also be posted at the affected stops in good time.
In implementation of a corresponding city council resolution, Jenaer Nahverkehr will discontinue its previous hourly service on route 42 from 01.12.2025. Instead, the regional bus lines 420 and 426 operated by JES Verkehrsgesellschaft will in future also serve the stops between Erich-Kuithan-Straße and Johann-Nikolaus-Bach-Weg on their journeys to/from the bus station.
In addition to the services offered by JES Verkehrsgesellschaft, Jenaer Nahverkehr offers a trip on line 42 to Himmelreich and back from Monday to Friday at around 18:00.
