Charity cyclist “Oli” stops in Jena

16.07.2026

Oliver “Oli” Trelenberg, a charity cyclist from Hagen, also stopped in Jena during this year’s tour of Germany. He was welcomed at the market square by Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, who thanked him for his extraordinary commitment.

Since 2014, Trelenberg has been supporting people with cancer through his project “Oli radelt.” After his own battle with cancer, he uses his annual bike tours to raise awareness about the challenges of a cancer diagnosis and to collect donations for nonprofit organizations. This year, his approximately 4,850-kilometer charity tour is taking him across Germany once again. The donations collected will benefit the organization “wünschdirwas e. V.,” which fulfills the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill children and adolescents.

“Oliver Trelenberg impressively demonstrates how a personal ordeal can become a cause that gives hope to many people. It was a pleasure to welcome him back to Jena. For the remaining stages of his tour, I wish him much strength, a tailwind, and continued strong support for his charity campaign,” said Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche. After his stay in Jena, Oliver Trelenberg continued his charity tour toward Erfurt. The city of Jena wishes him a safe journey and much success in raising further donations for this worthy cause.
