Christmas tree donation campaign for the Jena Hospice
The Christmas tree donation campaign in aid of Hospiz Jena is taking place for the fifth time this year. From December 4 to 12, 2025, citizens can purchase freshly cut Christmas trees for a donation every day between 10:00 and 18:00 on the premises at Paul-Schneider-Straße 5. The trees, between 1.25 and 4 meters high, will be netted on site and delivered as required. The campaign has proven its worth over the years and receives great support in Jena.
Donations handed over to the hospice
Once again this year, Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) is actively and financially supporting the campaign. Today, KSJ plant manager Uwe Feige presented Monika Hirche and Sebastian Haubner from Förderverein Hospiz Jena e. V. with a donation check for 500 euros. This is also the fourth time that the KSJ has taken over the transportation of the Christmas trees, which this time come from a plantation in Altenburg.
Special thanks go to Steffen Nieswandt and Tino Petermann, employees of the city cleaning service, who organized the transport and unloading of the trees on site together with the team from the hospice association. Their efforts contributed significantly to the smooth running of the event.
Christmas craft market on St. Nicholas Day
On December 6, 2025, the Christmas arts and crafts market will take place at the hospice, followed by an "Open Advent Calendar". From 15:00, regional exhibitors will present their crafts - including ceramists, stonemasons, woodcarvers, wood carvers and herbalists. At 4 p.m., the Schnapphans Dance Company will perform excerpts from their Christmas program, providing an atmospheric finale.
The hospice association would like to thank everyone involved for their continued support. The donations help to continue the important work of the hospice - a task that has been carried out with great commitment for many years.
