City of Jena issues new general decree and relaxes coronavirus protection measures in individual areas
Protecting the health of citizens is the top priority
The city of Jena is thus making use of the opportunity provided by the model general decree of the Free State of Thuringia for districts and municipalities in warning level 2. However, in view of the very high incidence values, which have not yet peaked, not all possible measures are being implemented. Jena is thus also following the decision of the Saale-Holzland district, which has not issued any further relaxations in view of the tense infection situation.
The health protection of citizens remains the top priority for the crisis team of the city of Jena. In the healthcare system, in critical infrastructure and not least in schools and kindergartens, it is already clear what restrictions cases of illness and quarantine mean for continued operations. Here, too, the close interconnectedness of the working and living situations with the Saale-Holzland district is evident. The easing of the Jena general decree will therefore initially focus on those areas where people can continue to be protected in the best possible way.
The regulations at a glance
The decisive factor for the decision of the crisis management team is the fact that the probability of the coronavirus being passed on is many times higher among unvaccinated people and in closed rooms. The city of Jena is therefore easing contact restrictions for people who have been vaccinated and for outdoor events. For the access conditions (2G, 2G-Plus, 3G) for facilities in closed rooms, the current legal ordinance of the state continues to apply.
The general decree comes into force on 10.02.2022 and includes the following relaxations
- Contact restrictions: 40 instead of 10 people may meet if only vaccinated or recovered persons attend; only two households may meet if unvaccinated persons also attend
- Public outdoor events: for public events max. 2,000 participants at max. 75 percent capacity utilization; up to 1,000 participants 2G applies (analogous to the current legal ordinance), up to 2,000 participants 2G-Plus applies
- Non-public outdoor events: max. 200 participants
