City of Jena participates in Sport in the Park

27.04.2022

The city of Jena is taking part in the "Sport in the Park" event series. Information on this can be found in the press release from the impulse region Erfurt - Weimar - Jena - Weimarer Land. An overview of all sporting events in Jena can be found in the appendix.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced athlete, with this series of events the Erfurt - Weimar - Jena - Weimarer Land impulse region offers varied and free health and fitness training for all age groups, outdoors and in all weathers.

"Sport in the Park" is an open, free and non-binding sports and exercise program for the citizens of Thuringia. Anyone can take part. Participation is possible without prior registration. All activities take place under the guidance of experienced and appropriately qualified trainers.

All offers for interested parties are listed on the Impulsregion website. A total of 7 locations in the region are taking part in the project. In Weimar, the sports courses are held in Weimarhallenpark, in Erfurt in Stadtpark and in Jena on Rasenmühleninsel. Apolda (Herressener Promenade), Bad Berka (Goethepark-Kurpark) and Buttelstedt (Gutspark) are also taking part in the Weimarer Land district. The events always take place from 5-6 pm. Changes and further information on the exact course program will be announced on the website as soon as possible.

It starts in the week after May Day. Weimar will kick things off on Tuesday, 03.05.2022. In Erfurt and Jena, the events will always take place on Wednesdays. On Thursdays, sports enthusiasts in the Weimarer Land region can try out different activities. The project will initially run until the end of September. In preparation for the series of events, the sports administrations of the local authorities, as initiators, have been able to win over many clubs and sports providers for the project. The result is an extensive range of sports, from Zumba, yoga and Pilates to tai chi, boxing, capoeira and full-body workouts such as breakletics and calisthenics.

With this free sports offer, the Impulsregion aims to provide a new opportunity for active leisure activities. The wide range of sports on offer, from aerobics to Zumba, means that there is something for everyone, reports Christian Bachmann, head of the Impulsregion e.V. office. The aim is also to give the participating clubs the opportunity to present their sport to the participants and, if they are interested, to attract new members.

This is an extremely exciting project, which also aims to be filled with life. The impulse region would therefore like to encourage the citizens of the region to try out the various sports on offer. So the motto is: take part, try it out and have fun!
