The CityCard Jena-Saale-Holzland aims to strengthen the region
In times of a shortage of skilled workers, employers need to think about how they can remain attractive to their employees. For example, they can grant them vouchers, products and services as non-cash benefits of up to 50 euros per month free of tax and social security contributions.
At the same time, the regional economy would like people to buy less online and more regionally, thereby strengthening the location.
The CityCard Jena-Saale-Holzland combines these two aspects, among others. The card is a kind of modern, digital voucher system that is supported by Sparkasse Jena-Saale-Holzland, elf5 GmbH, the city of Jena and the Saale-Holzland district as shareholders and has accordingly created numerous acceptance points for the rechargeable cash card in Jena and the Saale-Holzland district.
JenaKultur is a premium partner
JenaKultur is now the issuing and acceptance point for this card and is the new premium partner for cultural offers. In future, the CityCard can be purchased in a special JenaKultur edition in three different denominations of 50, 100 or 150 euros at the Jena Tourist Information Office and can be used for tickets or tourist services, to pay for courses at the adult education center or to visit the Jena Municipal Museums, among other things.
For users, the cashless payment system works very simply online and without providing personal data. The card can also be recharged at any time and has the added attraction of doing something for Jena and the region by supporting local service providers and traders.
Comments on the CityCard
Jana Gründig, Commercial Director of JenaKultur, is delighted: "It is an important sign that the numerous JenaKultur offers, which are of course primarily aimed at the citizens of Jena, are now included in this card. Our own edition is advertising and shows our enormous diversity, which ranges from concerts and courses to exhibitions. The JenaKulturBrand is also intended to create identification between customers and the point of acceptance."
Christian Velinger, Managing Director of CityCard Jena-Saale-Holzland GmbH, adds: "The more partners participate in the CityCard, the more attractive and therefore successful it will be for users: a win-win situation."
For Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, the regional approach of the CityCard is particularly interesting: "We need to do even more in the future to ensure that our city center remains attractive. Therefore, an offer that attracts people to the city and thus strengthens local trade and the service sector is a good way to cleverly combine business promotion and customer loyalty. The fact that we are acting beyond the city limits, i.e. regionally, is in keeping with the symbiosis between Jena and the Saale-Holzland district."
