Cold season: health care in the cold season

20.11.2024

With the onset of the cold season and the upcoming holidays, the Jena Health Department would like to draw attention to important preventive measures:

Effective prevention in everyday life:

  • Strengthen your immune system with a healthy diet, sufficient sleep, fresh air and exercise
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Make sure there is sufficient humidity in the rooms
  • Rest at the first symptoms of a cold
  • Reduce contact with people who are ill and wear a mask if necessary
  • Try to reduce stress as much as possible
  • Drink enough fluids

Now is the ideal time to get vaccinated. The flu vaccination is offered both by GPs and in many Jena pharmacies. Vulnerable groups of people can also receive the current corona vaccination. In many pharmacies, it is not necessary to make an appointment in advance.
