Commemoration of the bombing of Jena

19.03.2026 marks the 81st anniversary of the worst bombing raid on Jena. In addition to Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, Andreas Simon, pastor of the city church, will speak at the memorial stele on Rathausgasse. The background to this is that on this day of remembrance three years ago, the congregation of the Jena City Church was accepted into the international Community of the Cross of Nails (CCN) and this was accomplished with the symbolic presentation of a Cross of Nails. In addition, the city church will not be available for a memorial service this year due to renovation work.
