Committed members wanted for the Advisory Board for Integration and Migration
The City of Jena invites people with a history of migration to apply as candidates for the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration. The advisory board represents the interests of residents with international roots and plays an active role in shaping coexistence in the city.
"The advisory board is the voice of all Jena residents with a history of migration," explains the Office for Migration and Integration. "We are looking for people to represent the interests of people with a history of migration on a voluntary basis."

The advisory board is made up of nine members. They are elected for a term of office of five years.
Its tasks include
- Advising the city council on integration policy issues
- Commenting on current socio-political issues
- Improving communication between the administration and people with a history of migration
- Promoting networking within the city
- Advocating for equal coexistence
The advisory board meets four times a year for public meetings, which are held in German. The members can set their own key topics and also bring the perspective of people with a history of migration to various municipal committees.
Candidates can be people who:
- have lived in Jena for at least 12 months
- are 18 years or older
- are a foreign national or have a history of migration
Interested parties can register as candidates from now until February 25, 2025. The election will be held as a postal vote, with voting possible until April 1, 2025.
