Compulsory vaccination: City of Jena sends out fine notices
The city of Jena is sending fines to employees of health and care facilities in the city of Jena who do not have a proven vaccination against the SARS-Cov-2 virus. The city of Jena is thus implementing the legal regulations of the federal government.
Upon request, the city administration was informed by the Thuringian State Administration Office that the legal regulations must also be implemented when the Federal Infection Protection Act expires. The law does not provide for the exercise of discretion. In this respect, the city administration will adhere to the framework set by the legislator, which has been reviewed by the Federal Constitutional Court.
Fine notices sent out promptly - payment not until 01.03.2023
Notices of fines will therefore be sent to 654 affected employees of health and care facilities in the city of Jena. In order to avoid disproportionately burdening the group of people affected by the fines during the Christmas period and at the turn of the year, the city administration is planning that the payment obligation will not be dated until 01.03.2023 and a deadline of four weeks until the end of the month of March 2023 will be set.
No entry bans
There will be no further activities, such as bans on entering medical and care facilities, due to the time limit of the legal framework at the end of the year.
