Carl-Zeiss-Promenade und Lichtenhainer Oberweg sind von Sperrungen betroffen
  • Carl-Zeiss-Promenade closed on one side
From 01.04.2019 until 05.04.2019, a half-sided closure will be implemented at the intersection with Lichtenhainer Oberweg. During the closure period, traffic will be guided safely past the construction site using a mobile traffic light system. Traffic obstructions are to be expected.
  • Full closure of Lichtenhainer Oberweg between the Carl-Zeiss-Promenade junction and the Döbereinerstrasse junction
A full road closure will be implemented in the above-mentioned area from 01.04.2019 to 28.06.2019. During the closure period, traffic will be diverted via the adjacent streets Phillip-Müller-Straße; Döbereinerstraße; Friedrich-Körner-Straße. The detour is signposted.
  • Full closure of Philosophenweg No. 7
The area will be closed from 29.03.2019 to 02.04.2019 between 9 am and 3 pm. It is possible to bypass the closed area using the existing traffic lights in Kritzegraben.
  • Closure of Naumburger Straße / Rautal
The Naumburger Straße / Am Steinbach intersection is fully closed. The large-scale detour is via Brückenstraße - Wiesenstraße - Am Anger and back.

Despite the barriers in Brückenstraße: Please do not attempt to drive through the residential area! Public and school buses drive through the small streets. "Creeping traffic" would massively obstruct local traffic there. In addition, the sidewalks are partially separated from the carriageway - the safety of school routes has top priority.

We would like to thank all considerate drivers!

Another note for pedestrians and cyclists: The sidewalks in the area of the entire construction site can be used throughout this year.

  • Narrowing of Am Eisenbahndamm road
From 25.03.2019 to 26.07.2019, a drinking water pipeline will be laid through the railroad embankment between Landveste and Straße am Eisenbahndamm on behalf of Stadtwerke. During this construction work, the cycle/walking path will be closed in the area of the construction site at Landveste and rerouted in the area of Landveste. There will also be a temporary narrowing in the area of Am Eisenbahndamm, especially at off-peak times, as one of the two left-turn lanes in the direction of Paradiesbrücke (Stadtrodaer Straße) will have to be shortened slightly.
  • Grietgasse closed on one side in the area of the Neugasse junction.
From 27.03.2019 to 15.04.2019, Grietgasse will be closed on one side in the area of house no. 2 to 27 because a new gas pipe including house connections is to be laid. The construction area is short so that oncoming traffic can drive past the work site on sight.
  • Traffic obstructions at the Mühlenstraße / Hermann-Löns-Straße junction
Construction work has currently begun in the intersection area and will continue until 26.04.2019. During the construction work in the intersection area, electrical cables are being laid in the sidewalk area of the intersection. During the work, traffic will have to be controlled by traffic lights. This will result in traffic obstructions on Hermann-Löns-Straße.
  • Half-sided closure Am Anger 32
In the area of Am Anger 32 (new hotel building), the sidewalk and the right turn lane in the direction of Spitzweidenweg will be closed from 25.03.2019 to 12.04.2019 in order to lay electrical cables. Turning right from the straight ahead lane will be permitted during the closure period. Significant traffic obstructions are not to be expected.
  • Complete closure of Karl-Liebknecht-Straße
Stadtwerke will be laying a new combined sewer in the area between Brändströmstraße and Pestalozzistraße until around 31.05.2019. During this time, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße will be closed to traffic in the construction site area.
    completely closed to vehicle traffic.

During the vacation period from 12.04.2019 to 27.04.2019, streetcar line 2 will also be interrupted. It will only run from the city center to the construction site. The streetcar will also run between the Jenzigweg stop and the final stop in Jena-Ost.

The major traffic detour will take place in both directions via Jenzigweg and Wiesenstraße to the Anger junction. The traffic light control at the Anger junction is to be optimized. However, residents can also bypass the roadworks via Am Steinborn and Löbichauer Straße. Temporary stopping restrictions will be put in place along this route to help traffic flow.

  • Complete closure of Rautalstraße
From 25.03.2019, Rautalstraße between Kuithanstraße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic. The detour will be via Kuithanstraße, Zitzmann-Straße, Straße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße or G.-Neumann-Straße. The closure is expected to last until mid-May 2019. After that, the Rautal area between Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße and Jägerbergstraße will be closed and traffic will be diverted via Closewitzer Straße. This section is scheduled to be reopened to traffic on 05.07.2019.
During the closure period, a new drinking water pipe will be laid in Rautal.
In the fall of this year, this new drinking water pipeline is to be laid further along the Rautal to the end of Jena in the direction of Closewitz.
  • Maria-Pawlowna-Straße
In the period from 11.03.2019 to 07.06.2019, the road will be closed to vehicle traffic due to construction work on the district heating pipeline. Traffic between Naumburger Straße and Schreckenbachweg or Am Rosenhang will be diverted in both directions via Flurweg.
  • Bachstraße
Bachstraße will be closed on one side from 01.11.2018 to 25.04.2019 in the area of house no. 15. During the closure period, scaffolding will be erected there, which will restrict road traffic.
  • Max-Wien-Platz
The property at Philosophenweg 26 is being built on. For this reason, it will be necessary to restrict traffic in the area where Kritzegraben joins Philosophenweg. In order not to divert traffic, a traffic light system will regulate traffic at this junction. The traffic restriction will end in the middle of 2019
  • Closure of Marktstraße in Lobeda-Altstadt
On 03.09.2018, construction work began on the further expansion of Marktstraße between Marktplatz and Nikolaus-Theiner-Straße and further along Lobdeburgweg between Stadtgraben and Spitzbergstraße. Due to the construction work to renew the road, there will be road closures in sections until 27.09.2019.
  • Leutra
A sewer will be laid in Leutra between 04.03.2019 and 26.04.2019. The road will be closed on one side during the construction period. The construction work will be carried out in several sections one after the other in order to keep traffic disruptions to a minimum.
  • Full closures Burgweg 60
Burgweg will be closed on 01.04. and 09.04.2019 due to crane assembly work. Traffic will be diverted locally, the detour will be signposted.
  • Rathausgasse parking lot closed
On 05.04.2019, from 06:00 to 06.04.2019, 20:00, the parking lot Rathausgasse is closed due to an event (18th Thuringian Wood Market).
  • Construction work on Camburger Straße continues
The construction work begun in 2018 to lay drinking water pipes in Camburger Straße will continue from 8 April 2019 and is scheduled to last until the end of June 2019. During the construction period, road traffic in the direction of the city center will remain on Camburger Straße. As last year, northbound traffic will be routed back to Camburger Straße via Spitzweidenweg and Scharnhorststraße.
  • Complete closure of Schillstraße 1
Schillstraße will be closed from 08.04.2019 to 31.05.2019 because the sewer and house connections have to be renewed in this area. Road traffic will be diverted locally and the detour will be signposted.
