Construction site report for the 30th calendar week of 2019

• Löbstedter Straße, full closure of Steinbachbrücke bridge, reason: bridge inspection and ground investigation work, July 23 to 27
  Detour via Wiesenstraße and Ilmstraße

• Am Eisenbahndamm, narrowing of the road, reason: laying of a drinking water pipe through the railroad embankment between the Landveste and the road along the railroad embankment, until July 26

  During the construction work, the cycle/walking path will be closed in the area of the construction site at Landveste and diverted in the area of Landveste. There will also be a temporary narrowing of the road Am Eisenbahndamm, especially at times when traffic is lighter, as one of the two left-turn lanes in the direction of Paradiesbrücke (Stadtrodaer Straße) will have to be shortened slightly.

• Bernhard-Schultze-Straße, full closure between Am Steinborn and the junction with Julius-Schaxel-Straße, reason: civil engineering work on supply lines, until August 27
• Engelplatz, closure of the parking lot, reason: preparation and implementation of the Kulturarena, until August 28
• Ernst-Abbe-Straße, traffic restrictions, reason: road construction and renewal of property entrances, until August 2
  • Ernst-Abbe-Straße will only be accessible as a one-way street from Schillerstraße / Engelplatz in the direction of Ernst-Haeckel-Platz / Carl-Zeiss-Straße. Access to the underground parking garage will be diverted from the Luther-Straße / Ernst-Haeckel-Platz junction via Carl-Zeiss-Straße, Krautgasse, Bachstraße, Leutragraben and Schillerstraße. Exit from the underground parking garage is possible at all times.
  • A full road closure is necessary during the installation work for the new road surface. This is scheduled to last from July 27 from 20:00 to July 29 at 06:00. During this time, there will also be short-term traffic interruptions between Ernst-Haeckelplatz and Lutherstraße.

• Hufelandweg, sectional closure between Am Nordfriedhof 7 and Thomas-Mann-Straße, reason: laying of new gas and house connection pipes, until September 30th
  Detour via Ricarda-Huch-Weg to Philosophenweg and Kritzegraben.
• Hugo-Schrade-Straße 55, closure, reason: laying of district heating pipes, until August 9
  Detour via Bertolt-Brecht-Straße and Schrödingerstraße
• Lutherplatz, narrowing (closure of the right-hand lane from Angerkreuzung to Saalbahnhofstraße), reason: laying of water pipes, until August 9th
  • A full closure between Angerkreuzung and the hazard prevention center will take place from 25 to 28 July. It is recommended to drive around the construction area on this weekend via K.-Kollwitz-Straße and Bibliotheksplatz.
  • The parking lot at Lutherplatz 3 opposite Hotel Schwarzer Bär cannot be used by residents during the entire construction period. It is recommended to use the parking spaces on the east side of the street Am Anger between Steinweg and Angerkreuzung.
• Lutherplatz/ Inselplatz, closure of approx. 1/3 of the parking lot, reason: archaeological excavations, until September 20
• Marktstraße in Lobeda-Altstadt, sectional closure, reason: expansion of Marktstraße between Marktplatz and Nikolaus-Theiner-Straße and further via Lobdeburgweg between Stadtgraben and Spitzbergstraße, until September 27
• Max-Wien-Platz, traffic restrictions in the area where Kritzegraben joins Philosophenweg, reason: development of the property at Am Philosophenweg 26, until the end of July
  A construction site traffic light regulates the traffic.
• Mittelstraße, full closure, reason: renewal of the sewer between Otto-Schott-Straße and Kronfeldstraße, until August 30
  It is possible to drive around the construction site via the adjacent roads.
• Naumburger Straße / Rautal, full closure, reason: expansion of Naumburger Straße between Camburger Straße and Flurweg
  • The large-scale detour is via Brückenstraße - Wiesenstraße - Am Anger and back.
  • Despite the barriers in Brückenstraße: Please do not attempt to drive through the residential area! Public and school buses drive through the small streets. "Creeping traffic" would massively obstruct local traffic there. In addition, the sidewalks are partially separated from the carriageway - the safety of school routes has top priority.
• Rautalstraße, full closure from the "Am Heiligenberg" junction in the direction of Closewitzer Straße, reason: laying of new drinking water pipes
  • Detour via Kuithanstraße, Zitzmann-Straße, Straße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße or Gotthard-Neumann-Straße.
  • In the fall of this year, this new drinking water pipeline is to be laid in the Rautal valley as far as the end of Jena in the direction of Closewitz.
• Schrödingerstraße 8-18, one-sided closure, reason: renovation work on the adjacent building, until November 8
• Stifterstraße, complete closure, reason: laying of a new drinking water pipe, until July 31
• Tatzendpromenade and Magdelstieg, complete closure, reason: fundamental renovation of Magdelstiege from Gustav-Fischer-Straße to Tatzendpromenade and Tatzendpromenade from Magdelstieg to Lichtenhainer Straße, until June 2020

  The construction project is being carried out in two phases. The 1st construction phase is between Gustav-Fischer-Straße and Bertold-Koch-Platz.
  The detour is via Otto-Schott-Straße.

• Teichgraben, full closure, reason: laying of drinking water pipe, until August 16
  • Replacement bus stops: In the Grietgasse area immediately east of Neugasse and between Am Volksbad and Paradiesstraße (wooden platform on the parking lane)
  • Bus route 16 will be routed from Holzmarkt via Nonnenplan and Kollegiengasse to Leutragraben.
  • The traffic lights in the Engelplatz area will be adjusted by KSJ.
• Westbahnhofstraße 2a to 6a, one-sided closure in the area of the retaining wall, reason: retaining wall renovation, until September 29
  If there is a traffic jam into the city, the roadworks can be bypassed via Rathenaustraße - Curt-Unckel-Straße - Hainstraße and An der Brauerei.
