New construction site
- August-Bebel-Straße, full closure at the junction with W.-Külz-Straße, reason: connection of a sewer, August 6 to 16
- The detour will be through the adjacent road network and will be signposted.
- Camburger Straße, one-way closure between Scharnhorststraße and the Montessori school, reason: laying of drinking water pipe, August 5 to the end of December
- Initially, Camburger Straße will be closed on one side from Scharnhorststraße in the direction of the Aral petrol station and traffic will be diverted into the city via Dornburger Straße, Scharnhorststraße and Camburger Straße.
- Full closure of the Camburger-Straße / Scharnhorststraße intersection during the fall vacations (October 7 to 19). The detour will be via Dornburger Straße and Nollendorfer Platz in both directions.
- Jenaer Straße, full closure between Mühltal and Cospeda, reason: surface course renewal, August 5 to 16
- Traffic will be diverted in both directions via Isserstedt and Lützeroda.
Finished construction site
- Saalbahnhofstraße, half-sided closure, connection of a water pipe, until August 4
- Saalbahnhofstraße will be closed to vehicle traffic from Lutherplatz in the direction of K.-Kollwitz-Straße. The opposite direction is open to traffic. During the closure period, traffic will be diverted via Fürstengraben, Bibliotheksweg and K.-Kollwitz-Straße.
- Stifterstraße, total closure, reason: laying of a new drinking water pipe, until July 31
Existing locks
- Bernhard-Schultze-Straße, full closure between Am Steinborn and the junction with Julius-Schaxel-Straße, reason: civil engineering work on supply lines, until August 27
- Engelplatz, closure of the parking lot, reason: preparation and implementation of the Kulturarena, until August 28
- Ernst-Abbe-Straße, traffic restrictions, reason: road construction and renewal of property entrances, extended until August 6
- Ernst-Abbe-Straße will only be accessible as a one-way street from Schillerstraße / Engelplatz in the direction of Ernst-Haeckel-Platz / Carl-Zeiss-Straße. Access to the underground parking garage will be diverted from the Luther-Straße / Ernst-Haeckel-Platz junction via Carl-Zeiss-Straße, Krautgasse, Bachstraße, Leutragraben and Schillerstraße. Exiting the underground parking garage is possible at any time.
- Hufelandweg, sectional closure between Am Nordfriedhof 7 and Thomas-Mann-Straße, reason: laying of new gas and house connection pipes, until September 30
- Detour via Ricarda-Huch-Weg to Philosophenweg and Kritzegraben.
- Hugo-Schrade-Straße 55, closure, reason: laying of district heating pipes, until August 9
- Detour via Bertolt-Brecht-Straße and Schrödingerstraße
- Lutherplatz, narrowing (closure of the right-hand lane from Angerkreuzung to Saalbahnhofstraße), reason: laying of water pipe, until August 9
- The parking lot at Lutherplatz 3 opposite Hotel Schwarzer Bär cannot be used by residents during the entire construction period. It is recommended to use the parking spaces on the east side of the street Am Anger between Steinweg and Angerkreuzung.
- Lutherplatz/ Inselplatz, closure of approx. 1/3 of the parking lot, reason: archaeological excavations, until September 20
- Marktstraße in Lobeda-Altstadt, sectional closure, reason: expansion of Marktstraße between Marktplatz and Nikolaus-Theiner-Straße and further via Lobdeburgweg between Stadtgraben and Spitzbergstraße, until September 27
- Max-Wien-Platz, traffic restrictions in the area where Kritzegraben joins Philosophenweg, reason: development of the property at Am Philosophenweg 26, until August 9
- A construction site traffic light regulates the traffic.
- Mittelstraße, full closure, reason: renewal of the sewer between Otto-Schott-Straße and Kronfeldstraße, until August 30
- It is possible to drive around the construction site via the adjacent roads.
- Naumburger Straße / Rautal, full closure, reason: expansion of Naumburger Straße between Camburger Straße and Flurweg
- The large-scale detour is via Brückenstraße - Wiesenstraße - Am Anger and back.
- Despite the barriers in Brückenstraße: Please do not try to drive through the residential area! Public and school buses drive through the small streets. "Creeping traffic" would massively obstruct local traffic there. In addition, the sidewalks are partially separated from the carriageway - the safety of school routes has top priority.
- Rautalstraße, full closure from the "Am Heiligenberg" junction in the direction of Closewitzer Straße, reason: laying of new drinking water pipes
- Detour via Kuithanstraße, Zitzmann-Straße, Straße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße or Gotthard-Neumann-Straße.
- In the fall of this year, this new drinking water pipeline is to be laid in the Rautal valley as far as the end of Jena in the direction of Closewitz.
- Schrödingerstraße 8-18, one-sided closure, reason: renovation work on the adjacent building, until November 8
- Tatzendpromenade and Magdelstieg, full closure, reason: fundamental renovation of Magdelstiege from Gustav-Fischer-Straße to Tatzendpromenade and Tatzendpromenade from Magdelstieg to Lichtenhainer Straße, until June 2020
- The construction project is being carried out in two phases. The 1st construction phase is between Gustav-Fischer-Straße and Bertold-Koch-Platz.
- The detour is via Otto-Schott-Straße.
- Teichgraben, full closure, reason: laying of drinking water pipe, until August 16
- Replacement bus stops: In the Grietgasse area immediately east of Neugasse and between Am Volksbad and Paradiesstraße (wooden platform on the parking lane)
- Bus route 16 will be routed from Holzmarkt via Nonnenplan and Kollegiengasse to Leutragraben.
- The traffic lights in the Engelplatz area will be adjusted by KSJ.
- Westbahnhofstraße 2a to 6a, one-sided closure in the area of the retaining wall, reason: retaining wall renovation, until September 29
- If there is a traffic jam into the city, the roadworks can be bypassed via Rathenaustraße - Curt-Unckel-Straße - Hainstraße and An der Brauerei.

- Schillbachstraße 23 (access from Steiger) , total closure, reason: renewal of a drinking water connection, August 12 to September 23
- A detour is not possible.
- The closed area is passable for pedestrians.

General traffic organization:
- The Wöllnitzer Straße / Jenertal junction will be given a new right of way in the next few days.
The Jenertal road will be legally subordinate to Wöllnitzer Straße. In recent years, it has become apparent time and again that some road users are unable to cope with the right of way rule on the right before the left, resulting in traffic accidents. This is facilitated by the straight course of Wöllnitzer Straße. Wöllnitzer Straße should therefore be given right of way again at this junction.
- The inner courtyard of Anna-Siemsen-Straße will soon be designated as a traffic-calmed area. The structural design of the inner areas contains all the features of such an area. In addition, a children's playground is integrated here, which is to be better protected with this regulation.
- The traffic area north of the Ernst Abbe monument on Carl-Zeiss-Platz will soon become a traffic-calmed area. The parking spaces for two-wheeled vehicles will remain here. A total of three disabled parking spaces will remain where the short-term parking area is now designated.
The reorganization was necessary because there are also many pedestrians and cyclists in this area and it was becoming too narrow due to the parked vehicles. The fire department also needs more space to maneuver when they have to operate in this street area.
