Here is the Jena roadworks report for the 4th calendar week (23 - 29.01.2022).

Unless otherwise stated, you can get past the roadworks on foot and by bike.

Completed road closures

Wöllnitz / Ammerbach

• The laying of fiber optic cables has been completed

New road closures

The announced half-sided closure of the western Fürstengraben was postponed by two weeks due to freezing temperatures.

Goldberg tunnel

• Type: Full closure for cycle traffic and pedestrians
• Duration: 23.01.2023 (08:00) to 28.02.2023 (17:00)
• Reason: Safety measures in the tunnel
• Details: A detour will be signposted. Pedestrians and cyclists can bypass the closure via the newly created footpath / cycle path.

Keßlerstraße

• Type: temporary restrictions
• Location: from the local transport entrance to the Göschwitzer Straße junction (Fiebig car dealership)
• Duration: 23.01.2023 until probably 17.02.2023
• Reason: Civil engineering work for laying fiber optic cable

Fischergasse

• Type: short-term closure of both lanes in the direction of Stadtrodaer Straße
• Location: between Löbdergraben and Knebelstraße
• Duration: 28.01.2023 (08:00 am to 12:00 pm)
• Reason: Crane installation

Existing closures

Buchenweg

• Type: Half-sided closure
• Location: House number 34
• Duration: until 30.07.2023
• Reason: Construction site installation for the conversion of the adjacent school
• Details: Waiting is compulsory for vehicles meeting in the carriageway area.

Julius-Schaxel-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Duration: until 31.03.2022
• Reason: Road expansion incl. pipe laying
• Details: The construction site can be passed on foot. There will be 3 construction phases. Construction phases 2 + 3 will take place in 2023.

Lessingstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: House number 1-6
• Duration: until 28.02.2023
• Reason: Laying of district heating pipe
• Details: The area can be passed on foot and by bike.
  During the winter break (start 19.12.2022 - end not known), Lessingstraße will be one-way traffic. Lessingstraße can be accessed from Am Steiger street in the direction of Max-Wien-Platz.

Lobeda-Altstadt - Neulobeda - Drackendorf

• Type: Restrictions
• Duration: until 24.02.2022
• Reason: Civil engineering work for laying fiber optic cable

Max-Gräfe-Gasse

• Type: Partial closure
• Location: Corner of Kreuzgasse
• Duration: until 31.03.2023
• Reason: Construction site installation for house conversion
• Details: The construction site can be passed.

Oberaue

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: From the Saaleeingang Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld entrance to just before the Lichtenhainer Brücke bridge
• Duration: until 31.03.2023
• Reason: Work on the stadium grandstand
• Details: The Lichtenhain Bridge is not affected by the closure. A detour for pedestrians and cyclists is signposted.

Thomas-Münzer-Weg

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: House number 4
• Duration: until 30.06.2023
• Reason: Construction of a residential building
• Details: The full closure is indicated by means of planning boards from both Jägerbergstraße and Max-Gräfe-Gasse. The restricted area must be driven around extensively. The construction site can be safely passed on foot and by bike.

To the Ziskauer Valley (Lützeroda)

• Type: Complete closure
• Duration: until 28.04.2023
• Reason : Civil engineering works (sewage; drinking water)
• Details: A detour will be signposted on site.

Announcements

Fürstengraben

• Type: Half-sided closure
• Duration: until 17.02.2023
• Location: Junction with Bibliotheksplatz to before the junction with Johannisplatz
• Reason: Work on the sidewalk
• Details: A one-way street will be set up. Inbound traffic will be diverted.
  Pedestrians will be guided safely past the roadworks.

Lichtenhainer Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Duration: 30.01.2023 (07:00 to 18:00)
• Location: next to Ernst Abbe University Jena
• Reason: Crane installation.
• Details: A detour is signposted. Pedestrians can safely passthe construction site area.
