Corona situation: 13 new cases

On Wednesday, 08.09.2021, the Health Service reported 13 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

Background on the case history (cases yesterday and today)

9 cases are contacts of already reported cases. These often occur in families.
3 cases occurred in people after stays at health resorts abroad.
One teacher at Ernst-Abbe-Gymnasium tested positive. Other teaching staff are in quarantine.
Another case occurred at the Spatzennest daycare center. A quarantine was ordered for individual children.
One member of staff at the Stern school hostel is affected by an infection.
One case of infection was reported from a company.
Furthermore, travelers (3x domestic, 3x foreign) are among the cases.
The causes of the remaining cases are unclear.
Of the 62 cases of infection reported from 31.08. - 07.09., 15 were fully vaccinated persons. The vaccinated persons show no or only mild symptoms. The Health Service became aware of the infections through investigations by contact persons. To be on the safe side, tests were carried out in many cases, which then showed some positive results.
