Corona situation: 17 new infections on Sunday, 60 since Friday
The Health Service reported 17 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Sunday, October 17.
For Saturday, October 16, 24 infections were reported and for Friday, October 15, 19 cases.
This means that the 7-day incidence has risen to 94.8. At 6.1%, the percentage ITS occupancy is above the threshold value for warning level 2 for the second day in a row. Warning level 2 would be triggered if the ITS value were to remain above 6% and the 7-day incidence were to exceed 100 for three days in a row.
Background to the incidence of infection
Once again, follow-up cases from schools and daycare centers were in the majority. Fortunately, the voluntary mass swab test at GMS Wenigenjena has so far only resulted in the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in one person. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
Newly affected facility:
- Waldkita Nord
- Glühwürmchen daycare center
- Stoy School
- North School
Further follow-up cases were reported at these facilities:
- West School
- Angergymnasium
- Jenaplan
- Kaleidoscope School
Request to people who have tested positive
Contact tracing is becoming increasingly difficult due to the high number of infections. Therefore, the health department asks that all infected persons inform close contacts of their infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. They must then immediately go into self-isolation.
