Corona situation in Jena: 422 new infections at the weekend

Over the weekend, 422 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus were reported to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) by the health department.

Of these, 184 cases were reported on Friday, February 11, 156 on Saturday, February 12, and 82 on Sunday, February 13. Due to a technical malfunction, the cases from Friday were only transmitted on Saturday.

This puts the incidence just before the 1,000 mark at 998.8.

Background information on the cases

• New infections were reported from 5 schools and 3 daycare centers.
• The incidence of infection at a social institution continues to spread. The first series of tests were carried out at the weekend.
