The Health Service reported 51 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. A further 10 cases were attributed to the previous day.

Unfortunately, a further death in connection with a COVID-19 infection must be reported.

Background to the case history

Further cases have been reported from schools and daycare centers and they concern the following facilities

  • Montessori School (subsequent case)
  • IGS Grete Unrein School (follow-up case)
  • Leonardo School (new case)
  • Knirpsenland daycare center (follow-up cases)

There were also cases in the sporting, family and professional environment.

  • Number of active cases: 347
  • of which in the past 24 hours: 51
  • Inpatient cases: 6
  • Hospitalization incidence: 2.7
  • Percentage of ITS occupancy (Thuringia-wide): 8.6
  • Infections in the last seven days: 200 (previous day: 180)
  • Current seven-day incidence for Jena: 180.6 (yesterday: 162.6; day before yesterday: 165.3)
  • Total infected persons since 14.03.2020: 5,177
  • Total number of deaths: 85
  • Total recovered: 4,745 (+ 40)

No current figures on quarantine orders are currently available. According to the Thuringian early warning system, warning level 2 applies for Jena.
