Corona tests for infectious persons

The Synlab laboratory is now offering corona tests. These tests are also available for mild symptoms. The costs are covered by health insurance.

Appointments can be made directly through the laboratory this week: 00 49 36 41 - 50 74 21.

From Monday onwards, appointments will also be made by calling the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians on 116 117.

The laboratory is located at Löbstedter Straße 93 - opening hours are daily from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Dr. Enikö Ban, Head of the Health Department of the City of Jena, welcomes the establishment of the new swabbing point: "People should get tested even if they have mild cold symptoms, as this is the only way to identify possible infections at an early stage and for people to go into quarantine and isolate themselves. Without this knowledge, there is a risk that people will infect other contacts. Only with an early testing approach can we get ahead of the wave again."

Visiting relatives in care homes must present a negative rapid test. This test can be carried out at the DRK. Appointments for this can be made by the care homes on request. Rapid tests can also be carried out at the new swabbing center at Synlab.
