The Cycling Advisory Board is looking for reinforcements

Citizens can apply for the upcoming electoral term

For the 2024 - 2029 term of office, we are looking for five citizens who would like to join the Advisory Board for Cycling. The application period begins on 11.06.2024 and ends on 31.07.2024.

Requirements for an application:

• Minimum age 18 years
• Main residence in Jena
• Not a member of the city council
• Regular participation in the meetings of the cycling advisory board

The advisory board meets once a month. Currently, the meetings usually take place on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5 pm.

The Cycling Advisory Board advises the City Council and its committees on cycling issues. It prepares cycling policy decisions for the city of Jena, assesses cycling concepts, advises on the planning and construction of cycle paths and proposes necessary changes and renovations to existing cycle paths.

In addition to the direct representatives of the citizens, the city council's political groups as well as clubs and associations such as the ADFC and the VCD are also represented on the advisory board.

Five members and five deputies are drawn by lot from the applications and submitted to the city council for confirmation, as are the members of all advisory boards.
