Day of insect diversity - light trapping in the Jena forest
Of the approximately 3,700 butterfly species native to Germany, only around 200 are diurnal butterflies. The vast majority are therefore nocturnal. The Jena Lower Nature Conservation Authority and the Jena City Forest invite all interested parties to get to know this fascinating diversity - at the public light trapping on the grounds of the new nature experience center on Schottplatz Jena on 22.05.2023. After a short introduction to Jena's moth fauna and the method, the moths will be attracted with special lamps and can be admired "live".
