Day of the town twinning on October 3, 2020

To mark the 30th anniversary of German reunification on October 3, 2020, the "Jena-Erlangen Town Twinning Day" will take place again this year.

Here are the program highlights:

Ceremony on the Day of German Unity
11.00 a.m. - Volkshaus

• Welcome by the two Lord Mayors Thomas Nitzsche and Florian Janik.
• Speech by Vice President of the German Bundestag Wolfgang Kubicki
• Musical contributions from Erlangen and Jena

Church service on the Day of German Unity
4 p.m. - St. Michael's Church

• With festive organ music - performed by KMD Martin Meier.

Opening of the Thuringian Jazz Mile

Concert by the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra with singer Sarah Buechi

5.30 pm - Volkshaus Jena

• Tickets are availablefrom the tourist information office.

Around 150 visitors from Erlangen are expected in the city. Some of them will travel by bike from Erlangen. The tour starts there on October 1.

There will also be accompanying guided tours of the city and exhibitions.
