Day of urban development in Jena on 10.05.2025
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, Jena will be taking part in the nationwide Day of Urban Development. Under the motto "Vibrant places, strong communities", cities and municipalities will provide information about their projects, plans and successes on this day and invite people to play an active role in shaping their own living environment.
In Jena, various events and activities are planned in the city area. At 09:30, the Heiligenberg playground in the Zwätzen district will be officially opened by Dirk Lange, Head of the Department for Urban Development and the Environment. This will be followed by a small supporting program for children and families in cooperation with the Rautalschule and the "Löbstedter Grashüpfer" and "Kinderbude" kindergartens.
In the city center, a tour of the Bachstraße area will be offered from 10:00 a.m. by employees of the urban planning and urban development departments for interested citizens. The meeting point is 10:00 a.m. at the Ernst Abbe monument on Carl-Zeiss-Platz.
Also at Carl-Zeiss-Platz, the German Optical Museum Foundation invites interested parties to a lecture on carbon ceiling reinforcement in the existing building of the German Optical Museum at 10:00 am and 11:00 am.
