Detour causes displeasure - request for mutual consideration

The new "Erlenhöfe" district in Jena-Ost is currently being connected to the local heating network. For this reason, the "Am Erlkönig" road has been fully closed since yesterday. The detour to the gardens and the Talstein nursery is via Kunitz, including the cycle paths along the Saale. The paths have been signposted accordingly and cleared for residents. The bollards have been retracted.

Displeasure among cyclists

However, the detour is causing some displeasure. Since yesterday, the city council has received a number of reports that cyclists have been harassing and aggressively abusing motorists. On this occasion, the city of Jena is calling on all road users - regardless of how they are traveling - to be prudent and considerate of each other.

The construction work, including the road closure, is expected to last until mid-November. It is not possible to change the route of the detour.
