Draft of the noise action plan now available

17.01.2024

The draft noise action plan is available to the public until 11.02.2024. It can be found online at https://umwelt.jena.de/laermminderungsplanung and can also be viewed at the Department of Urban Development and Environment, Environmental Protection Division, Am Anger 26, Room 1_07 in Jena. All interested parties are invited to view the plan and send their comments and suggestions to the city administration. This can be done by e-mail(aktionsplan_laerm@jena.de) or by post.

The aim of noise action planning is to define measures to reduce environmental noise - especially road traffic noise. The engineering firm IVAS from Dresden has been commissioned to update the noise action plan.

Public participation

The participation in the current noise action plan is the second part of the public participation process. The first part took place as part of an online survey from 13.05. to 18.06.2023. The public was able to take part:
- report noise pollution in their area,
- make suggestions for noise reduction and
- propose noise reduction measures.

Based on the findings of the survey, the results of a new noise calculation and the evaluation of previous plans, specific measures and proposals were developed to reduce traffic noise in the city of Jena. They can be found in the draft noise action plan and the associated action plan, which have now been published.

Update of the noise action plan

This is already the fourth round of noise action planning. The last noise action plan for the city of Jena was drawn up in 2018 and adopted by the city council on 21.03.2019. As it has to be reviewed and revised every five years at the latest, it is now being updated. The new noise action plan must be drawn up by 18.07.2024. It is then valid until 2028.
