Drone flights in Wenigenjena on Saturday
Drone flights are expected to take place in Wenigenjena on Saturday afternoon (08.07.2023). The drone will fly at an altitude of 100 to 120 m and record images in the visible and thermal spectral range. The latter will be used to identify overheated areas in the district in summer. The results will be incorporated into the creation of the integrated energy district concept for Wenigenjena.
The aerial survey has been coordinated with the responsible departments of the city administration and approved. The data protection regulations are observed.
Background: Integrated energy district concept
The development of integrated energy district concepts is part of the climate action plan adopted by the city of Jena in April. It is a measure in topic area 2 "Climate-neutral buildings and neighborhoods". This provides for the identification and implementation of ten model districts for the energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings.
The measure focuses on districts that are relatively homogeneous in terms of age, building condition and technical equipment. This means that the need for refurbishment and potential savings are at a similar level, making them particularly suitable for the development and implementation of integrated solutions. In the long term, the aim is to develop transferable solutions for climate-neutral refurbishment of existing buildings at neighborhood level. The first integrated energy concept is being developed for a neighborhood in the Wenigenjena district.
