E-scooter handed over to the city administration

Today, Steffen Gundermann, Managing Director of Jena's public transport company, handed over two Evita e-scooters to Mayor Thomas Nitzsche. These will be added to the city administration's fleet of vehicles for business trips. The fleet is operated by Kommunalservice Jena. More and more electrically powered vehicles are being used successfully here. The scooters therefore fit in perfectly with the city of Jena's mobility strategy, which envisages the increased use of electrically powered vehicles. When purchasing new cars, the municipal service now only buys electric or hybrid vehicles.

The use of the e-scooters is now open to employees of the administration and can be booked via the corresponding app. As with the entire evita fleet, services are provided by local transport.

Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche on the new offer: "When local transport presented the initiative with the e-scooters to us, I and my fellow department heads were immediately convinced: this is just right for the city administration! Due to the coronavirus, it took a little longer. Now they're here and I'm pretty sure that the scooters will be a hit with the administration staff. My personal experience with the City-Flitzers has been positive all round."

Steffen Gundermann, Managing Director of Jenaer Nahverkehrs, says: "The season of our popular e-scooters has begun and the number of users is growing steadily.
