Election preparations going according to plan

12.02.2025

Around 24,500 Jena residents have already applied to vote by post for the upcoming Bundestag elections on February 23 (as of Tuesday afternoon). The team from the Citizens' Services Department is processing the applications on a daily basis so that applicants receive their documents very promptly. The electoral administration urgently advises postal voters to return their postal ballot letter together with their ballot paper and ballot paper as soon as possible by Deutsche Post or hand it in at the city administration.

Anyone who has applied for postal voting and has not yet received their documents by the weekend is asked to report to the postal voting office in Klostergasse next to the Citizens' Services from Monday (17.02.2025). Replacement documents can be issued there. In addition, postal votes can be applied for and voted for immediately at the postal polling station.

Postal voting documents should still be applied for online if possible. The input mask can be accessed via the QR code on the election notification or via the tile on the homepage of the City of Jena(www.jena.de). The city administration highly recommends using this application method, as this is the quickest way to record and process the data.

Regarding the election preparations as a whole, the city administration informs that everything is going according to plan. The electoral boards of all voting districts are now fully staffed. This week also saw the start of training for poll workers.
