Erasmus at the State Vocational School Center Jena-Göschwitz

20.02.2020

The European Union's Erasmus program is making an exchange program possible for six apprentices at the Staatliches Berufsbildende Schulzentrum Jena-Göschwitz (SBSZ). An exchange with the partner country Sweden is currently taking place. The Jena participants are in the northern Swedish town of Boden, 2000 km away.

Aim of the exchange

The aim of the exchange is to work in a different location in order to get to know new regions and other people with a different culture.

By working in different companies - pairs of electricians, machinists, car mechanics, industrial mechanics and mechatronics engineers travelled with them - the young people learn a lot about the work system, working methods and working conditions in this beautiful snow-covered region of our continent.

Intensive program

The local Björknäsgymnasiet takes intensive care of the guests from the "warm countries".

In addition to a one-day visit to Stockholm, there was a baptism of the Arctic Circle, they were on a first-name basis with moose and reindeer, they jetted through the snowy landscape on snowmobiles, went ice swimming, saw the Northern Lights, went skiing or ice skating on the frozen Baltic Sea, learned lots of new things at the Teknikes Hus at Lulea University, visited the Gammelstad World Heritage Site, the Treehotel in Harads and cheered on the Lulea team in the Swedish field hockey league.

Direct contact with Swedish students

It is important to have direct contact with Swedish students to exchange experiences.

One and a half weeks have already passed for the students and the same period is now available again for further experiences and learning new skills in the Lapland region. Further highlights have been planned by the three German teachers and their Swedish colleagues.

End of February in Jena

At the end of February, the Swedish students will spend 14 days at the SBSZ Göschwitz and gain experience in the city of light, Jena.
