Corona case numbers

There were no new cases in Jena on Easter Monday either.

This means that there are still 155 cases, 7 are being treated as inpatients and 3 patients require intensive medical care. There are two deaths in total, 90 people are considered recovered.

Thanks to the people of Jena

The city administration would like to thank the people of Jena for their responsible actions over the Easter holidays.

The public order office and fire department have confirmed that the vast majority of Jena residents have adhered to the applicable rules. If the virus was not spread further over the holidays by keeping distance and limiting social contacts, it will be possible to keep the numbers low in the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, the city continues to appeal to everyone to take responsibility, which must also be adhered to in the coming days and weeks. This includes continuing to limit private contact, wearing face masks and adhering to hygiene rules.

Blood donation at the University Hospital

Jena University Hospital (UKJ) continues to rely on blood donations, as cancer patients, accident victims and other seriously ill and injured people still need blood even in times of coronavirus. And yes, donating blood is safe at the UKJ. Because nothing is more important than protecting donors from infection with the coronavirus when donating blood.

Safety precautions

The colleagues at the UKJ have taken many safety precautions to ensure this. They measure the temperature, ensure sufficient distance between donors, disinfect the couches, hand out face masks and of course wear them themselves, pay attention to hand hygiene, question, examine... And very important: To prevent a large number of donors suddenly turning up at once, you can only donate at the UKJ by making an appointment by calling 0049 3641 9393939.

The blood donation center in Bachstraße will be open again tomorrow: Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 to 19:00 and Monday and Friday from 07:00 to 14:00.

All information about blood donation at the UKJ can be found here.

Mouth-nose cover from tomorrow also at the workplace

Wearing a face mask at work has been compulsory since Friday, but will only come into effect tomorrow (Tuesday, 14.04.) due to the public holidays.

A face mask must be worn if there is more than one person in a room, if there is less than 20 square meters available for one person in an office used by several people and if the minimum distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained.

There are exceptions for companies that present a hygiene concept. You can also find a draft of such a concept on Coronavirus.
