Corona case numbers

Unfortunately we have to report a dead person with corona infection today. The man, born in 1953, had pre-existing conditions and had already been treated for some time in the intensive care unit of the University Hospital Jena (UKJ) - in the last few days also with artificial respiration. The Jena staff for extraordinary events is deeply moved by this news and sends the family sincere condolences and much strength in this difficult time.

There were no changes in the number of cases: A total of 155 people are infected with Corona. 6 patients are undergoing inpatient treatment, 2 of them with a severe course. Recovery is considered to be 90 persons.

Supply of nursing homes and medical practices

The fire department has already delivered 8,000 disposable protective masks to retirement homes and more than 1,000 to medical practices. In addition, about 750 reusable masks, more than 1,500 FFP2 masks and, starting with reusable protective gowns, were delivered. The deliveries will continue this week.

What about the obligation to cover the mouth and nose? - Action of the city of Jena

The city of Jena will wait and see what is agreed in the meeting with the Chancellor and the Minister Presidents on Wednesday and how these arrangements will be implemented in the Free State of Thuringia.

Every conceivable relaxation appears to be linked to the continuation of the obligation to cover one's mouth and nose.

The public health department and the staff for extraordinary events will examine and evaluate further regulations in Thuringia. If the state ordinance does not include all feasible measures to contain the Corona pandemic, the city will make adjustments. The decision will be made before the weekend.

The Citizens' Service is currently closed to the public.

It is not possible to submit the application personally, please refrain from visiting the service building at Löbdergraben. The direct contact between applicants and employees of the Citizens' Service is to be reduced to the absolutely necessary.

An adjoining apartment can be registered and deregistered by e-mail. The registration of a main flat cannot be done at the moment, the registration deadline is currently suspended.
