Corona case numbers
- No Jena resident with coronavirus is now being treated as an inpatient.
- There are still 159 corona cases in Jena.
- There were 3 deaths in total. 154 people are now considered recovered, so there are 2 active cases.
These figures reflect the cases of Jena residents.
More COVID patients are treated at Jena University Hospital than listed here. People who have been transferred from other hospitals within Thuringia are also being treated.
Support for Jena's gastronomy
The Jena administration is trying to mitigate the losses of the last two months by opening up Jena's gastronomy after the lockdown. Three measures have been adopted for this purpose:
1. more outdoor space for restaurants
Where additional outdoor catering is possible, this will be implemented. These areas are available to neighboring restaurants or beer vans.
2. reduction of the special usage fee
The administration will propose to the City Council that the fee for outdoor catering areas be reduced by 50 %. This is to apply until the end of September 2020.
3. evening operation in summer
Despite the closure of the Kulturarena Jena, city center restaurateurs will be allowed to operate outdoor catering until midnight in July and August.
Evening locations only if required
Since March 13th, we have been sending out daily evening editions to the media and sharing them on Facebook, Twitter and usually also on Instagram. From tomorrow, we will only use this format when necessary.
