Corona case numbers
- No new corona case since 09.04.2020.
- Thus: 155 cases tested positive, 2 cases hospitalized, one of them in intensive care, 3 deaths, 130 recovered (+6).
Jena bundling strategy successful
The number of coronavirus cases in Jena has remained constant since 09.04.2020. This pleasing development is thanks to Jena's bundled strategy against coronavirus. This includes targeted measures: Since March 10, quarantine regulations for people returning from abroad have been consistently implemented and tightened. Events were banned very early on, stores and restaurants were closed and groups were prohibited. The obligation to cover mouth and nose has been in force for 14 days. Many measures were implemented weeks before state and federal regulations in some cases.
Every regulation is always an encroachment on the individual freedom of citizens. The extraordinary events team knows how drastic each individual measure is for everyday life. That is why the staff would like to send a special thank you to the people of Jena today. Without everyone's cooperation, ordinances will remain unsuccessful. There is still a long road ahead of us all - but the first, cautious signs are visible.
Expansion of emergency care in daycare centers and schools
A key issue that has repeatedly reached our colleagues on the hotlines and the social media team is emergency care in daycare centers and schools. We have been waiting a long time for the state to make a decision on this, which was finally announced today.
From April 27, 2020, emergency care will be gradually expanded for certain groups of people with special needs and professions. It is also open to the children
- of working single parents;
- employees of the Federal Employment Agency, job centers and social welfare offices as well as the Thüringer Landesaufbaubank - insofar as these employees are required to cope with the coronavirus crisis;
- educational staff at schools and day-care centers;
- trainees and pupils as well as retrainees who are about to take an examination.
The maximum group size for emergency care in daycare centers and schools will be adjusted and limited to ten children per group, class or course from 27.04.2020.
From 11.05.2020, emergency care will be opened up further, as far as the development of the infection situation and the personnel and spatial resources in the respective daycare facility or school allow.

In preparation for the store openings on Friday, posters for stores are available for download on the Corona page. They explain the rules for entering stores and markets in two languages. There is also a template on which the maximum number of customers who can be in the store can be entered. There must be 20 square meters per person.
