FCC women's jersey sponsors presented

22.08.2024

When the FC Carl Zeiss Jena women's soccer team take to the field for their first match of the season in the first Bundesliga on Saturday, August 31, their jerseys will be adorned with the jenawohnen logo and #visitjena from JenaKultur. The FCC women's main sponsors were unveiled today at the ad hoc arena in the Ernst Abbe Sports Field.

"We have made a conscious decision to remain active as the main and jersey sponsor of the FC Carl Zeiss Jena women's 1st team for the second year in a row. We were impressed by the impressive performance of the team and its coach last season. Our aim is to get our tenants and families in general excited about women's soccer and to attract them to the stadium to celebrate soccer festivals together",

said Tobias Wolfrum, Managing Director of jenawohnen GmbH.

"Like many other sportswomen and sportsmen in Jena, the FC Carl Zeiss Jena footballers are ambassadors for this city, representing a diverse and modern Jena. That is why we are continuing our sponsorship commitment to the city of Jena, which has been in place since 2008, this season",

said Carsten Müller, Plant Manager of JenaKultur.

"Sponsoring the women of FC Carl Zeiss Jena is a clear commitment to women's soccer and the promotion of young talent in our region. Even if the strength of teams like Bayern Munich is a challenge, we have an enormous advantage thanks to the excellent infrastructure - the grounds in the Oberaue, the new stadium and the proximity to the sports high school. The renewed promotion to the 1st Bundesliga is a milestone that underlines the impressive development of the team and offers young talents the prospect of staying in Jena. The city of Jena supports this development and sees it as an opportunity to use women's soccer as a positive figurehead. At the same time, we hope that the promotion and the new venue will provide impetus for attracting further sponsors and partnerships,"

said Head of Sports Benjamin Koppe.

Jenawohnen and the city of Jena with JenaKultur have strengthened the development of women's soccer in Jena in recent years. JenaKultur works manager Müller emphasized continuity:

"We want to continue this strategic support in the future, over the next few years - regardless of whether the team will be able to hold its own in the strong first Bundesliga."

FCC President Ralph Grillitsch said:

"This is a good day for sport in Jena, our FC Carl Zeiss Jena and its FCC women, for whom I am of course particularly pleased after an impressive second division season, at the end of which we returned to the 1st Women's Bundesliga. The commitment of our long-standing partners from jenawohnen and JenaKultur is not only a great appreciation for what we have achieved, but also an enormously important support to continue on this path. We need the commitment of many partners to sport and soccer and are very grateful that we have such partners at our side in Jena. With the FCC women, who are great role models for many girls in the youth teams, we are nationwide ambassadors for our beautiful, liveable city - and we are happy to be,
