Fire department in Naumburger Straße 2-4

30.09.2025

On Tuesday morning, the Jena fire department was called to Naumburger Straße 2-4 at around 9:40 am. A janitor had noticed a noticeable smell of butyric acid in the building complex and called the emergency services. The Jena fire department arrived with the hazardous materials train and a total of around six vehicles. A rescue service was also on site as a precaution, but was able to leave a short time later as no people were injured. During the one and a half hour operation, a strong odor could be detected in the building. However, the cause could not be clearly determined. The matter was handed over to the police. Discussions are now being held with the building management to decide whether to press charges.
