Fire department operation at the Heinrich Heine School

The Jena fire department was called out to an incident at the Heinrich Heine School at 9:17 pm on the evening of 25.11.2025. A security guard had heard a smell of burning during his inspection round and immediately raised the alarm. A swelling fire was discovered in the hallway on the second floor of a part of the building where construction work is currently taking place. The fire was extinguished immediately. It is not yet possible to say what caused the fire. The police are carrying out further investigations.

There are no restrictions on school operations, as the affected wing of the building is currently closed to pupils due to the construction work.
