Fire department operation at the Schiller School in Jena

There was a fire at the Friedrich-Schiller elementary school in Jena Winzerla this Wednesday morning. The fire broke out in the so-called adventure room. Thanks to the janitor's efforts to extinguish the fire, it did not spread any further. The Jena professional fire department and the Winzerla volunteer fire department were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

All the people who were in the building when the fire broke out left the school on their own. As things stand at present (08:45), nobody was injured. To be on the safe side, all persons are being examined by the emergency services as a precautionary measure.

The cause of the fire is still unclear and is being investigated by the police.
