Fire department operation on Tuesday evening (16.9.2025)

Fire in an arbor in the north school garden

The Jena professional fire department was called to an operation at the Nordschule Jena on Tuesday evening, 16.9.2025 at around 21:40. The control center received numerous calls from the immediate neighborhood.

A gazebo was on fire in the school garden. When the fire department arrived, the building was already fully engulfed in flames. The fire was quickly extinguished with two water pipes.

During the operation, there were disruptions to road traffic on Dornburger Straße and to local public transport in Jena.

The Jena police have begun investigating the cause of the fire.

The fire department would like to thank the attentive citizens for raising the alarm so quickly.
