"Forest whispers" at forum natura

19.02.2026
Klettersitz am Baum im Wald.
Vortrag: Der notwendige Waldumbau stellen neue Anforderungen an Waldbesitzende sowie an Jägerinnen und Jäger.

The Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald (SDW) Thüringen and the Stadtforstamt Jena (Kommunalservice Jena/KSJ) invite you to the evening lecture series "Waldgeflüster". On Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 18:30 to 20:00 at the forum natura nature experience center (Otto-Schott-Platz 1, Jena), the focus will be on the topic "Revier im Wandel - Moderne Jagd im Wald".

The evening's speaker will be Bernhard Zeiss, Head of the Thuringian Forestry Office Jena-Holzland.

The forest is in a state of upheaval: climate change, changing social expectations and the necessary forest conversion are placing new demands on forest owners and hunters. The lecture sheds light on why modern hunting today goes far beyond traditional gamekeeping and is considered an important component of sustainable forest management. The focus will be on how adapted wildlife management supports healthy, climate-stable forests, the challenges posed by current developments and how the interaction between forests, game and people can succeed in the future.

Interested parties are cordially invited to attend.
