A formative personality retires

28.07.2023

On 31.07.2023, Ms. Lindner, the team leader of the care authority, will leave the city administration of Jena, a person who has shaped the social sector like no other.

Ms. Lindner set up the care authority - then still part of the social welfare department - in January 1992 and has headed it ever since. She has had a lasting impact on the work of this department and ensured that the Jena Care Authority enjoys an excellent reputation throughout Thuringia. Both the Ministry and other supra-local authorities attach great importance to assessments from Jena.

In the beginning, Ms. Lindner and her colleagues managed many guardianships themselves - experiencing highs and lows with clients. When the first care association was founded in Jena, she helped to set it up - but there were ups and downs there too.

The team changed, colleagues retired and new colleagues joined. Ms. Lindner was always concerned about collegiality, be it in joint meetings with supervisors or in passing on the knowledge she had acquired.

It was always important to Ms. Lindner that the dignity of those affected was preserved and that their attitude to life and plans were respected. One of the results of this was her commitment to setting up a working group to reduce the use of liberty-depriving measures in care.

Mrs. Lindner has now decided to retire. We wish her all the best for this.
