Great interest in postal voting / City of Jena still looking for polling assistants
Around 23,000 voters in Jena have already applied for a postal vote for the state election on 01.09.2024 (as of Tuesday evening). This is around 4,000 more than for the last state election in 2019 and more than for the local and European elections in early summer. In addition to the already steadily increasing proportion of postal votes, the administration attributes this to the current semester break at the university and Ernst Abbe University. Many students are not on site and vote by post.
Anyone wishing to use postal voting is asked to apply for it immediately. The QR code on the election notification can be used for this. It is also possible to apply for the documents via the municipal website. Election letters should be returned by the beginning of next week at the latest so that they are received by the city by election Sunday.
Polling assistants needed at short notice
In order to fill the last gaps in the electoral boards, the city administration is still looking for electoral assistants at short notice. If you are interested, please register via the online form on the city's website. You should be willing to work flexibly around the city and also be available at short notice.
